I don’t own a thermostat gun, so I cannot rate the heating or tell you how far away it needs to be from the basking spot. However, I trust that by beardie can self-regulate his heat. What confused me about this product is that the product description did not say anything about the bulbs providing UVA or UVB, just heat. Measuring UV is beyond me, and I have heard from self-proclaimed online lizard experts that these heat UV bulbs are inferior to the long T5 and T10 white ones that deliver ONLY UV light. I do not know for sure, but I would personally not trust these to be the sole source of UV. However, they do get quite hot, and I am not worried about my beardie getting too much UV because he has a hide where he can get away if he needs to. [...]
